Depeche Mode to return to Glasgow for 'big gig' this winter
The band played to a sold out Barrowlands in one of the biggest gigs of 2017 last night and keyboard player Andy Fletcher has confirmed they will be back.
The band played their first UK show since 2013 at a sold out Barrowlands in Glasgow last night bringing the curtain down on this year’s 6 Music festival.The incredible performance was broadcast live by the BBC for the thousands of fans who could not get a ticket.The gig sold out in less than five minutes with touts selling briefs for as much as £900 a head at the weekend.
Founding member of the band and keyboard player Andy Fletcher told the Daily Record’s Saturday Mag: “We’re coming back in the winter to play bigger gig in Glasgow, so we’re just really looking forward to being back twice in one year.“It’s such an energetic city. Both the Barrowland and The Hydro are going to be really special.”
No details have been confirmed as yet for the proposed show in Glasgow.The band start a European tour in May which continues until the end of July - when they embark on a series of shows in North America which are scheduled to end in October.They have also confirmed gigs in Central and South America in March 2018.
