The band behind "People are People," "Personal Jesus" and "Blasphemous Rumors" is back for more. Depeche Mode will release their 13th studio album in March, according to a press release. A global tour will follow the album's release, launching in Tel Aviv and traversing Europe and North America.

Founding member Martin Gore says the as-yet untitled album "has a similar vibe to 'Violator' and 'Songs of Faith' and 'Devotion.'"

"I think the songs on the album are among some of the very best we've done," he added -- a strong endorsement given that Gore has written the vast majority of the group's tracks. Dave Gahan described the project as having a "very organic and direct feel."

"It's not a blues record, but it definitely has a soulful vibe," Gahan added. "During the recording process we really tried to get the elements of performing and the live show into the album more."

The press release notes that Depeche Mode has sold over 100 million albums since being founded in 1981. This new album will be their first on Columbia Records (the band was previously signed to subdivisions within Warner Music, Capitol and EMI). "Sounds of the Universe," the band's last album, debuted at No. 1 in 14 countries in 2009. Gahan was hospitalized during that tour, but appears to have recovered.
