Depeche Mode have confirmed a new album and a 32-date tour - and fans are hoping for a Glastonbury Festival set.
The band will release Spirit in spring 2017 before heading out on the Global Spirit Tour which will see them perform a headline set at Nos Alive festival and a show at London Stadium.
The album – which has been produced by James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco fame will be a follow-up to their 2013 album Delta Machine.
Speaking at the announcement launch in Milan, singer Dave Gahan said: "We're working on the album with a new team: it's produced by James Ford, and he's helped us to make what we feel is a very incredible sounding record. "He was able to really guide us."
Fans are calling for the band to play Glastonbury Festival as there is a gap on their tour schedule.
One fan tweeted: "Depeche Mode doing Glastonbury on the friday?"
Another posted: "Friday or Saturday glastonbury size hole in depeche mode tour, please please tell me you've landed them at last ;-) ;-)."
A third commented: "Depeche Mode announce London date... Glastonbury headliners anyone? #WeWish."
Guitarist Martin Gore confirmed proceeds from tour ticket sales will go to charity:water.
"If you don't know charity:water, you should," he said. "They're an amazing organization whose goal is to bring clean, safe drinking water to everybody on the planet.
“On the last tour, with our fans' help, we were able to raise over $1.4 million for charity:water. Those funds specifically brought clean water to people in Kenya, Ethiopia, and Rwanda."
The electronic band - currently made up of Gahan, Gore and Andy Fletcher - formed in Basildon, Essex, in 1980 and shot to fame with hits including Personal Jesus and Just Can't Get Enough.
They have had 48 songs in the UK Singles Chart including one US and two UK number one albums and have sold over 100 million records.
